Brief Description
The Director of Branch Development oversees the planning, expansion, optimization, and performance of an organization’s branch network. This role is responsible for developing growth strategies, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring each branch aligns with company standards and business goals.
Please note this is a regional based position and can reside within the eastern or central time zone.
Job Duties
- Develop and execute strategies for branch network expansion, relocation, consolidation, and modernization
- Conduct market research, demographic studies, and competitive analyses to identify high‑potential locations
- Oversee site selection, branch design, construction, and launch timelines in coordination with real estate, operations, and marketing teams
- Lead improvements in branch performance, customer experience, and operational effectiveness
- Create and implement standardized processes, policies, and performance metrics across all branches
- Work with finance to build business cases and ROI analyses for new or remodeled branches
- Partner with HR to support recruitment, training, and leadership development for branch managers
- Monitor branch performance indicators and drive corrective action plans where needed
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships related to branch buildouts and improvements
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards across the branch network
- Prepare reporting and presentations for executive leadership on network strategy and performance
- Other duties as assigned
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business, management, operations, or related field.
Experience & Skills
- 7–12+ years of experience in branch and or sales experience operations, retail network expansion, or multi‑unit leadership
- Proven track record in strategic planning, project management, and operational optimization
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and decision‑making skills
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration capabilities
- Vendor and stakeholder management experience
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check, drug screen and E‑verify
