What You’ll Do
Steward Network‑Wide Operational Services: Lead the MSO’s operational backbone and technology systems for all COE Network entities, ensuring maximum efficiency and automated workflows that center Black arts, culture, and economics in East Oakland.
Sustain Network Infrastructure & Health: Act as central operational lead, guiding systemic health and workflow automation of core functions, and maintain a world‑class backbone for shared digital tools and AI‑forward platforms.
Align HR Systems with People & Culture: Partner closely with the Chief of People & Culture to implement network‑wide HR policies—recruitment, onboarding, performance management—aligned with the Network’s cultural vision.
Lead Compliance & Board Engagement: Serve as the architect of operational safeguards, using automated reporting and real‑time data monitoring to ensure rigorous compliance. In partnership with General Counsel and CFO, enforce legal, fiscal, and regulatory standards through robust internal controls and governance.
Key Qualifications
Senior Operational Leadership Experience: Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible executive leadership in large, complex entities. Nonprofit or community development background preferred.
Technological Proficiency & AI Adaptability: Comfortable navigating sophisticated software ecosystems and emerging AI tools to drive operational excellence.
Workflow Automation: Experience designing and managing automated workflows that enhance efficiency across centralized backbone services.
Strategic Systems Execution: Deep expertise in Shared Services and MSO models; ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and maintain high‑quality service standards across partners.
Education & Specialized Knowledge: Master’s degree (MBA, MPA, Nonprofit Management) or equivalent executive experience, with proven track record building and maintaining centralized HR, IT/IS, Facilities, and Intelligent Operational Workflows.
Mission Alignment & Cultural Competence: Unwavering commitment to the mission of the Shared Management Services Corporation and Black Cultural Zone; ability to work authentically within East Oakland’s community. Deep lived or professional knowledge of East Oakland and Black cultural traditions preferred.
Leadership & Systems Execution: Results‑driven, autonomous self‑starter who can manage multi‑entity complexities and communicate complex operational data effectively to diverse stakeholders.
