Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

Ascension Search Partners has been exclusively engaged by a rapidly expanding, private‑equity‑backed "feel good" company to hire a strong FP&A leader.

Job Summary:

This leadership role oversees core financial planning and analysis activities, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, executive reporting, and cross‑functional financial strategy. The position drives both day‑to‑day improvements and enterprise‑wide initiatives that shape long‑term organizational performance. The role includes managing a small team with potential future expansion, providing executive‑level insights, and contributing significantly to the evolution of the finance function.

Primary Duties:

• Financial Planning & Forecasting: Develop and maintain financial models, assess trends, evaluate risks and opportunities, and ensure consistent forecasting methodologies.
• Data Analysis & Strategic Insights: Analyze financial and operational data to identify improvement areas, support cost‑optimization, and inform strategic decisions.
• Financial Reporting: Provide performance analysis and variance commentary to senior leadership; maintain key financial dashboards and metrics.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with multiple departments to ensure alignment between financial objectives and organizational goals and support initiatives that impact company‑wide financial outcomes.

Educational/Experience Level:

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
• Minimum five years in a finance leadership role
• Advanced financial modeling and analytical capabilities
• Experience supporting executives and simplifying complex financial narratives
