
Director of Finance

The Director of Finance is a senior leader responsible for shaping and executing Lee Construction Group’s financial strategy. This role oversees all financial planning, budgeting, accounting, risk management, compliance, and reporting functions while serving as a key advisor to the CEO and Leadership Team. The Director of Finance ensures long‑term fiscal stability, supports sustainable growth, and leads a high‑performing accounting team. This is an in-person position.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Develop and execute financial strategies that support company growth, profitability, and investment decisions
- Lead annual budgeting, multi‑year forecasting, and financial modeling processes
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and senior leadership based on financial analysis and market trends
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and month‑end close
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (and relevant state/federal regulations)
- Manage tax planning, filings, annual audits, and external financial relationships
Performance & Operational Analysis
- Monitor financial performance and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Analyze trends, variances, and operational drivers to provide actionable insights
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and improved financial efficiency
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, credit lines, and treasury activities
- Ensure adequate capitalization for operational and project‑based needs
- Maintain strong relationships with lenders and financial institutions
Risk Management & Controls
- Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and financial procedures
- Oversee insurance programs and risk transfer strategies
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team
- Establish performance standards, training pathways, and professional development practices
- Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
Stakeholder Communication
- Present financial performance, forecasts, and strategic insights to the CEO, Company Presidents, and external partners
- Communicate complex financial concepts in a clear, accessible way for non‑financial stakeholders
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Preferred: Master’s degree (MBA, MSF) or a professional designation such as CPA or CMA
Experience
- 10+ years of progressive financial management experience
- Proven track record in senior leadership, preferably within construction, manufacturing, or project‑driven industries
Technical & Leadership Skills
- Expert knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
- Proficiency with ERP systems and financial software
- Advanced analytical and modeling capabilities
- Strong strategic thinking, communication, and team leadership skills
- Ability to operate at both the tactical and executive levels
