JOB TITLE: Personal Injury Segment Manager (Paralegal, Attorney preferred)

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to VP of Administrative Operations
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
The Personal Injury Segment Manager will lead the strategy, operations, and growth of Advanced Spine and Pain’s Personal Injury segment. This role oversees medical case management operations, leads a team of case managers, supports law firm partners through medical-legal case reviews, and represents ASAP within Arizona’s personal injury legal community. The ideal candidate brings a paralegal or legal background, strong experience reviewing medical documentation, and the ability to translate complex clinical information into clear case support for attorneys and legal teams. This role serves as the internal champion for personal injury best practices, helping ensure our providers and teams align with documentation standards, legal expectations, and exceptional partner service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develop initiatives to grow and strengthen ASAP’s personal injury segment
Track performance metrics and partner satisfaction
Improve operational workflows and case management processes
Medical Case Management Oversight:
Oversee the lifecycle of personal injury patient cases
Ensure accurate, timely documentation and care coordination
Medical-Legal Case Review:
Conduct paralegal-level medical record reviews to support law firm partners
Organize and summarize medical records, treatment timelines, and injury documentation
Ensure clinical documentation supports medical necessity, injury causation, and litigation readiness
Identify gaps in records and collaborate with providers and case managers to resolve them.
Lead and mentor a team of case managers
Establish performance standards and training programs
Foster a culture of service excellence and accountability.
Law Firm Partnership Management:
Serve as the primary liaison between ASAP and personal injury law firms
Build trusted relationships with attorneys, paralegals, and firm leadership
Ensure responsive communication and high partner satisfaction
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related field preferred
Equivalent combination of education and relevant medical-legal experience considered
EXPERIENCE Required
5+ years experience as a Paralegal, Attorney, or in medical-legal personal injury case management
Experience reviewing and interpreting medical records
3+ years leadership or team management experience
Strong understanding of personal injury workflows, lien-based care, and medical documentation
Preferred
Direct experience working with personal injury law firms
Knowledge of Arizona personal injury and healthcare compliance standards
Experience as an RN Case Manager, RN with a legal background, legal Nurse consultant
CERTIFICATIONS
Paralegal certification (ABA-approved program preferred) or Juris Doctor (JD) strongly preferred
RN licensure or Legal Nurse Consultant certification is a plus
SKILLS

Personal Injury Knowledge: Deep understanding of PI case workflows, lien-based care, and documentation standards
