In our 5 global studios, we have more than 100 designers in dedicated teams of Graphic Design, Color Material and Finish, Craftsmanship, Industrial Design, Trends Forecasting, User Interaction, Motion Graphics, Usability, Design Research, and Studio Engineering. Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for an Industrial Designer. This is an onsite role 5 days a week at our Global Design Center in Benton Harbor, MI. As an Industrial Designer, you will support efforts to understand emerging trends, seek out real‑life insights, and create design solutions that will impact experiences for the next generation of home appliances.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

Create assets ranging from conceptual sketches, CAD models, physical prototypes, and high‑quality renderings/animations to communicate design intent.

Work with a variety of process partners to gain an understanding of marketing strategies, manufacturing requirements, and engineering constraints.

Grow an understanding of our design strategies and philosophies by working with cross‑functional design leads.

Work with design specialists in graphic design, CMF, UI/UX, usability, and craftsmanship to create fully immersive experiences.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design

3+ years of professional Industrial Design experience

Preferred Skills And Experiences

Strong project management and planning skills

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to facilitate communication across different disciplines

Strong decision‑making abilities and self‑motivation

Strong visual communication skills

Ability to adapt design intent through the development process

Intermediate 3D computer modeling skills
