Overview Working as Full-time Compliance Specialist, you will play a key role in connecting Fastenal's Procurement, Supply Chain, Product & Supplier Development, Customers, EHS, Operations and Sales Teams. Your main responsibility will be supporting all product compliance needs relative to regulatory, industry, and/or customer demands globally, but with a strong focus in the United States. At Fastenal, you will be providing first level support to the Supply Chain and Operations teams ensuring compliance of goods on hand, but also developing the offering and solutions for key customers with similar demands. Some key areas supported by this team include, but are not limited to: Environmental or VOC regulations, Labeling & Language requirements, CA Prop65, Conflict Minerals, Country of Origin, Shelf Life, Government Customer or Business requirements relative to product, and Maintenance. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.
Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Working with the Regulatory Research Compliance Specialist role to develop executable responses and strategic implementation of new or upcoming regulations
Analyzing the impact of new or changing regulations on our products and services, and identify the risks and opportunities for our business
Preparing and present reports, summaries, and briefings on compliance and regulatory research findings and analysis
Collaborating with other departments and teams globally, such as legal, product, quality, operations, supply chain, etc., to ensure compliance and regulatory alignment across the organization
Generating periodic and ad hoc reports
Reaching out to suppliers for data and support as it pertains to executing needed regulatory changes
Supporting interdepartmental correspondence
Enforcing company policy with regards to supply chain compliance
Handling the daily volume of customer demands on all compliance topics via ServiceNow, Ask Blue, email, and phone calls
Using tools provided to ensure compliance and communication to the organization: PeopleSoft, SmartSheet, Internet, 3rd party research databases, Internal communication tools such as BLUE Chatbot, ServiceNow, Sharepoint, and Sales Enablement Center
Required Position Qualifications
Possess a current full valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located (including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program for your state or province) as well as the ability to meet our driving record requirements to use a company vehicle, as needed
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (V-lookups and basic formatting)
Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
Work independently as well as in a team environment

Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

Compensation The base pay range for this position is $45,000 - 62,000. In addition to base pay, this position is also eligible for a bonus and/or commission.
