Assistant Golf Professional

Position Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Head Golf Professional / General Manager
Position Summary The Assistant Golf Professional assists in all aspects of the golf operation, including golf shop management, tournament operations, Annual Passholder services, instruction, merchandising, and daily facility operations. This role plays an important part in delivering an exceptional golf experience for Annual Passholders and guests while supporting the Head Golf Professional in maintaining the highest standards of service and professionalism.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide outstanding customer service to Annual Passholders and guests
Manage daily tee sheet and check-in operations
Operate and manage the golf shop point-of-sale system
Assist with merchandising, inventory management, and retail displays
Support planning and execution of tournaments and outings
Provide golf instruction, clinics, and junior programs as needed
Perform starter and ranger duties when required
Assist with practice facility setup and maintenance
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the golf shop and staging areas
Communicate effectively with members, guests, and staff
Support club events, leagues and golf programs
Enforce club policies, rules, and dress code
Tournament & Event Responsibilities
Assist with tournament and outing setup and operations
Prepare scorecards, cart signs, rules sheets, and tournament materials
Manage tournament scoring software and results
Coordinate with outside event groups and tournament organizers
Post results and communicate outcomes with participants
Instruction Responsibilities
Provide private golf instruction when requested
Assist with junior golf programs
Help run instructional clinics and member programsPromote instruction and player development opportunities
Qualifications
PGA Associate or PGA Member preferred (or actively pursuing PGA membership)
Strong knowledge of the game of golf and the Rules of Golf
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Strong communication and organizational abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Availability to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours during the golf season
Professional appearance and demeanor
Retail or golf shop experience preferred
