Account Executive (New Business) – SMB / Commercial | Remote (VA or NC) Our client is a fast‑growing, people‑first IT and managed services organization supporting hundreds of businesses and municipalities across the U.S. and Canada. Known for their high‑touch, consultative approach, they are expanding their commercial sales team and hiring a true hunter to drive net‑new growth.

The Opportunity This is a pure new‑business, hunter role focused on net‑new logo acquisition within the SMB and mid‑market space (20–1,000 employees). You’ll be joining a high‑performing, collaborative team (this is the final open seat on the team) and reporting directly to a respected sales leader. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building pipeline from scratch, owning complex deals, and closing meaningful business—not running high‑volume, transactional sales.

What You’ll Do

Own the full sales cycle from cold outreach to close

Generate your own pipeline through cold calling, outbound prospecting, and networking

Target SMB and mid‑market organizations across Virginia and North Carolina

Lead consultative sales conversations, uncovering business challenges and aligning solutions

“Quarterback” deals—manage stakeholders, drive next steps, and maintain momentum

Develop and deliver presentations, proposals, and business cases

Build long‑term relationships with key decision‑makers

Represent the company at industry events, networking functions, and in‑market activities

What We’re Looking For Core Experience

3+ years of quota‑carrying B2B sales experience (5+ preferred)

Proven success in a true hunting role (new business generation)Experience building your own pipeline (not reliant on SDRs/marketing leads)

Background selling into SMB or mid‑market organizations (20–1,000 employees)

Sales Profile

Strong cold calling and outbound prospecting discipline

Experience managing longer, more complex sales cycles

Ability to run fewer, higher‑value deals vs. high‑volume transactional sales

Highly consultative, strategic, and solution‑oriented

Nice to Have

MSP, IT services, cloud, cybersecurity, or VOIP sales experience

Experience in similar solution‑based or services‑led environments

Compensation & Earnings Potential

Base Salary:

$80,000 – $100,000

Year 1 OTE:

$175,000 – $200,000

Year 2 OTE:

$200,000 – $250,000+

Top Performers:

$250K–$300K+ (uncapped commission)
