Social Media Editor

First We Feast—the studio behind Hot Ones, Versus, Heat Eaters, and more—is seeking a Social Video Editor focused on cutting engaging, platform-native social content. This role will edit original social-first videos as well as high-impact cutdowns from First We Feast’s YouTube series, crafting clips that drive audience growth, retention, and cultural relevance.
Why We’re Hiring This Role In late 2024, we spun out of a parent company; throughout 2025 we completed our transition to independent, creator-led studio. Now, in 2026, we’re making the biggest investment we’ve ever made in content, including doubling our social team to launch new, talent-driven social formats that drive audience and engagement and are built for brand integration.
What You’ll Do
Edit new social-first video content, shaping pace, tone, and storytelling for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, Twitter/X, Snapchat and more using Adobe Premiere (and in-platform when required)
Collaborate on creative concepts, using your editing expertise to refine ideas and deliver polished final videos
Cut down and create compelling edits from First We Feast longform content including Hot Ones, Hot Ones Versus, Heat Eaters into highly shareable social videos
Format content for multiple platforms with captions, aspect ratios, and platform-native features in mind
Monitor trends, viral formats, and editing styles to keep social content fresh and culturally relevant
Maintain organized project files, footage logs, and timelines for efficient revisions and asset management
What You’ll Bring
At least two years of professional experience editing social video content, ideally in food, entertainment, or pop culture
Strong skills in Adobe Premiere and understanding of platform-native editing tools
Mastery of short-form storytelling, pacing, hooks, and captions for mobile-first audiences
Sharp awareness of internet culture, trending formats, and food/pop culture moments
Ability to work independently while quickly delivering high-quality edits and adapting to fast-paced deadlines

This is an on-site position based in our Midtown NYC office/studio. Our team works together in person Tuesday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work from anywhere on other days. The nature of this role may require in-person work at other times, depending on team needs or shoot schedules.
This is a full-time, exempt position. In line with similar roles at the company, the employer of record for this position is a third-party payroll firm which pays on a weekly basis. For candidates in the New York City area, the estimated weekly rate for this position is $1,200 - $1,450. Actual compensation will be determined by the final candidate's experience, skillset, and business needs. Benefits, including company-subsidized health insurance, are offered for this role.
