Salary and Benefits:

The annual base salary for new Border Protection Officers varies by grade level: GL-5/GL-7 ranges from $51,632 to $92,219 per year. Officers have access to a wide range of federal benefits including health, dental, and various insurance plans, as well as generous annual and sick leave, and eligibility for the Thrift Savings Plan. Recruitment Incentive:

New Border Protection Officers can receive up to $20,000 in incentives: $10,000 after completing the Border Patrol Academy, and an additional $10,000 for accepting positions in select priority areas. Retention Incentive:

Eligible officers can access cumulative incentives of up to $40,000 during their first four years. Duty Locations:

Successful candidates may be assigned anywhere along the Southwest Border based on operational needs. Relocation may be necessary, and pay rates vary by location, with potential locality pay increases. Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Border Protection Officer, you will work alongside a dedicated team focused on protecting the U.S. by: Detecting individuals violating immigration and customs laws. Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers. Conducting thorough inspections of farms, buildings, and vehicles. Patrolling borders and waterways using various government vehicles, including ATVs and boats. Qualifications:

To qualify for GL-5, you should meet one of the following: One year of general work experience demonstrating leadership and decision-making in stressful situations. A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. A combination of general work experience and college education. To qualify for GL-7, one year of specialized work experience is necessary, or a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement. Additional Requirements:

Candidates must be U.S. Citizens, have resided in the U.S. for three of the last five years, and should be under the age of 40 unless otherwise exempted. Candidates will undergo extensive training upon hiring, including instruction in immigration laws and law enforcement operations. How to Apply:
