Participation in the Thrift Savings Plan, similar to a traditional ROTH 401(k). Incentives for New Officers: Recruitment Incentive:
Up to $20,000 upon completion of the Border Patrol Academy, with additional incentives for specific locations. Retention Incentive:
Up to $40,000 distributed over four years. Duty Locations:
Duty assignments will be disclosed at the time of offer, possibly including critical mission areas along the Southwest Border. Key Responsibilities: Identify, interview, and investigate individuals suspected of immigration and customs violations. Prevent and apprehend undocumented individuals and smugglers through surveillance and evidence assessment. Conduct regular patrols and inspections utilizing various government assets, from vehicles to ATVs, to effectively carry out USBP's mission. Qualifications: GL-5 Grade Level:
Requires one year of general work experience, a bachelor’s degree, or a combination of both. GL-7 Grade Level:
Requires one year of specialized work experience or a bachelor’s degree with superior academic achievement. Additional Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen and have resided in the U.S. for three of the last five years. Age restrictions apply unless you are a current or former law enforcement officer.
