Summer Intern - Marketing
Under direct supervision, Summer Interns participate in a ten-week professional development program designed to provide hands‑on, entry‑level experience aligned with the student’s major field of study and the sponsoring department’s business operations. Interns gain real‑world exposure to OCTA operations and the transportation industry while contributing to meaningful projects and learning from experienced professionals.
Job Description Under direct supervision, Summer Interns participate in a ten-week professional development program designed to provide hands‑on, entry‑level experience aligned with the student’s major field of study and the sponsoring department’s business operations. Interns gain real‑world exposure to OCTA operations and the transportation industry while contributing to meaningful projects and learning from experienced professionals.
As a Summer College Intern, you will be exposed to OCTA’s career opportunities in the transportation industry. You will gain deeper awareness of transportation’s many facets through your OCTA orientation, projects and teams, and internal networking.
This is a
temporary, full‑time internship position
(approximately 40 hours per week) and runs for
ten weeks during the summer . The pay range is from $19.00 - $22.00 per hour depending on your education level.
This posting will remain open until filled.
What You’ll Do
Supports OCTA’s community outreach efforts by representing the agency at events and assisting with related promotional activities.
Provides general event and program support, including preparation of materials and post‑activity documentation.
Helps maintain marketing resources and materials to ensure readiness for public engagement activities.
Assists with updating and maintaining content on OCTA’s website and supports digital campaigns.
Researches and analyzes marketing initiatives to help evaluate performance and provide recommendations.
Contributes ideas for marketing content and assists with creative production projects.
Provides occasional support for social media and other promotional efforts as needed.
What We’re Looking For
Currently enrolled full‑time college student (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior) at an accredited two‑ or four‑year college or university
Students that graduated with their bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in the fall of 2025 or plan to graduate in the spring of 2026 are eligible
Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Public Policy, or a related field
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills; bilingual preferred
Interest in public engagement, multicultural communications, and transportation‑related outreach
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Creative thinker with strong research and analytical skills
