Quarles is seeking a Patent Prosecution Paralegal in our Madison or Milwaukee office to assist with all aspects of patent preparation and prosecution across multiple clients and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinating timely and accurate filings with the USPTO and International Bureau as needed, including new applications, amendments, formal documents, and responses.

Analyzing USPTO and foreign counsel correspondence.

Tracking due dates via matter management and docketing systems.

Proactively preparing client reporting's and prosecution documents.

Communicating with USPTO, attorneys, paralegals, liaisons, foreign associates, staff, and clients regarding prosecution matters.

Accurately and consistently record your time. Meet the firm’s billable hour requirement.

Qualifications

At least 2 years working with intellectual property, and the majority of that spent with patent prosecution.

A minimum of 2+ years of law firm experience.

A bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certification is required.

Strong attention to detail and expertise working with an extensive patent prosecution docket.

Exceptional client service focus.

A commitment to being part of a great team.

Ability to work independently and to prioritize and multi-task to complete projects effectively and efficiently.

Outstanding communication (oral & written) and organization skills.
