The City of Auburn is looking to fill our
Graphic Designer
in its Administrations Department. This is a regular, full‑time position responsible for graphic design, desktop publishing, delivery of multimedia services, audio visual systems support, and support for the City of Auburn and its customers, including assisting in video production services; coordinating outsourced print services, in‑house print jobs, and the distribution of various materials produced by multimedia services; and leveraging technical and organizational skills to bridge the gap between multimedia services and our customers.
Primary Duties
Primary contact for graphic design and publication layout for all printed and digital material content based on knowledge of layout principles, City standards, and esthetic design concepts.
Develop graphics, logos, and illustrations for all multimedia mediums.
Assist with completing work requests for multimedia services and meet appropriate deadlines.
Assist with print shop services including, but not limited to, mail processing, copier and bindery service, and printing.
Advise customers of the most efficient methods of reproduction for particular work requests and make recommendations for production improvements and priorities.
Assist in instructing, documenting, and teaching users how to properly operate and use audio visual equipment during council meetings, presentations, training events; and assist staff on offsite video and photo shoots.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate of Arts (AA) degree from an accredited design or trade school.
Three (3) years of work‑related experience that demonstrate the above knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Or any combination of relevant education and experience which would demonstrate the individual’s knowledge, skills, and ability to successfully perform the essential elements and responsibilities listed above.
