Campus Recreation- UM Golf Course
invites applications for a
Seasonal Golf Professional
to play a central role in the daily operation, instruction, and overall experience at the UM Golf Course.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities
Provide private and group lessons for golfers of various skill levels Assist the golf course general manager with the logistics of special events Assist golf course GM with merchandising cycle Serve as the primary golf ambassador for season pass holders and guests Assist golf course GM with staff supervision and scheduling Develop new programming
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of the official rules of golf and tournament procedures, including handicap systems and scoring formats Knowledge of golf swing fundamentals and basic teaching and coaching methodologies Golf Tee Sheet management skills, in addition to basic retail operations and inventory control Knowledge of golf etiquette and professional conduct standards, as well as conflict resolution fundamentals
Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent PGA certification Completion of professional golf management program Basic first aid/CPR Demonstrated golf playing proficiency

Work Schedule:
Seasonal full-time, 0.75 FTE (30 Hours a week), Hours will vary, 8- 9 months/year (dependent on weather conditions)
Probationary Period:
Six (6) months minimum
