We’re seeking a Toy Designer to support a leading company specializing in consumer products and entertainment merchandise. This contract (6-12 months) Hybrid LA role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the development of innovative hardgood products for pre-school children.
Toy Designer (Hardlines) Responsibilities:
Lead the creative development and execution of hardlines consumer products based on our titles, ensuring innovative market relevance while maintaining alignment with licensing properties.
Oversee the entire product development process from conceptualization through to retail launch, including designing assortments that stand out across global markets.
Collaborate closely with internal art, licensing, and retail teams to ensure packaging and product deliverables align with strategic branding and quality standards.
Manage partnerships with licensees, brands, and retailers, guiding them on translating titles into successful consumer products across categories like toys, plush, collectibles, and electronics.
Develop tools and guidelines that inspire new approaches in product innovation, focusing on speed to market and efficient collaboration with partners.
Toy Designer Qualifications:
6+ years of experience in hardlines consumer product design and development, particularly with licensed and vertical product lines.
Proven expertise in toy development, including game-based and electronic products.
Demonstrated ability to work across multiple segments such as collectibles for both kids and adults, with a focus on pre-school toys.
Strong trend-spotting skills coupled with a capacity for innovative thinking.
Proficiency in managing both strategic initiatives and daily operations efficiently.
