Job Description
Gilroy Chevrolet/Cadillac is seeking a motivated and customer-focused
Automotive Parts Sales Representative
to join our team. In this role, you will assist both Technicians and customers in identifying and purchasing the correct automotive parts and accessories, provide product knowledge, and help maintain an organized and efficient parts department. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong sales skills, automotive knowledge, and a passion for customer service. This position's work schedule will include five (5) days per week, either Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday rotation.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Technicians, retail, and wholesale customers with automotive parts inquiries and purchases
Identify and provide correct parts using catalogs, software, and vendor resources
Provide excellent customer service in person, over the phone, and via email
Recommend related parts, accessories, and add-on products to increase sales
Process sales transactions, invoices, and special orders accurately
Maintain inventory accuracy and help stock shelves and organize the parts department
Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage
Work closely with service technicians and other departments to fulfill parts requests
Handle returns, warranties, and core returns according to company policy
Keep up to date on new products, promotions, and industry trends
Qualifications
Previous automotive parts sales, counter sales, or related experience preferred
Strong knowledge of automotive systems, parts, and accessories
Ability to read catalogs, diagrams, and use parts lookup systems
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Basic computer skills and point-of-sale experience
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Valid driver’s license may be required
Preferred Skills
Experience with dealership, aftermarket, or wholesale parts sales
Knowledge of inventory systems and ordering processes
Sales-oriented mindset with ability to upsell when appropriate
Team player with a positive attitude and dependable work ethic
