Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced

Lead Server

to join our dining services team at our Westover location. This position reports directly to the Chef Manager and plays a key leadership role in supervising servers and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our residents. The Lead Server works closely with the Chef Manager and Hospitality Manager to maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and resident satisfaction.

This is an important hospitality role focused on creating a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel valued and cared for.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Supervision

Supervise daily dining room operations

Assign duties and responsibilities to servers

Assist with and oversee pre-service preparation before each meal

Assign and monitor closing side work and cleaning duties

Check servers out after shifts to ensure all tasks are completed and the dining room is properly set

Assist with training and onboarding of new dining room servers

Provide supervision during special events

Service & Resident Experience

Greet and interact with residents and guests in a friendly, professional manner

Ensure a high level of customer service throughout the dining experience

Assist servers with seating, bussing, meal delivery, and beverage service

Anticipate and respond promptly to resident and guest needs

Address and resolve resident concerns; elevate feedback to the Hospitality Manager as needed

Assist with Assisted Living (AL) meal service

Dining Operations

Prepare dining room, trays, linens, and service items

Stock dining areas, refrigerators, and freezers

Ensure utensils and equipment are cleaned and ready for service

Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures

Collect, clean, and reset food trays

Roll and polish silverware; clean linens and placemats

Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming dining areas

Remove trash and maintain a safe, hazard-free work environment

Food Service & Compliance

Prepare and deliver food trays efficiently and accurately

Take and record food temperatures as required

Follow all dietary guidelines and resident diet cards

Ensure all food handling complies with state and county health regulations

Maintain quality, cleanliness, and safety standards at all times

Administrative Duties

Assist with scheduling and administrative tasks

Attend all required in-service trainings and pre-shift meetings

Qualifications

Previous serving experience required; leadership or supervisory experience preferred

Strong customer service and communication skills

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Ability to lead, train, and motivate team members

Requirements

Open availability required (weekdays, weekends, holidays, AM/PM shifts)

Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks throughout shift

Must be dependable, organized, and team-oriented

Qualifications (Education & Experience) Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required

Licenses or other required certifications:

None

Experience:

1 year related experience preferably in a continuing care retirement community, hospital, hotel, restaurant, or similar preferred

Specialized knowledge, skills, or abilities:

Excellent customer service skills
