
Senior Construction Superintendent

Norrell Construction is seeking a high-performing Senior Construction Superintendent / Construction Manager to lead field execution for industrial civil construction projects throughout the Houston and Port Arthur Gulf Coast region. This role is responsible for overseeing multiple projects and work scopes simultaneously within active industrial facilities and other petrochemical plants. Typical scopes include concrete foundations, earthwork, underground utilities, structural slabs, and industrial paving.
The ideal candidate is a field leader capable of managing $5M–$20M in annual project volume, coordinating multiple crews and subcontractors while maintaining strict safety standards, schedule performance, and quality execution within operating industrial environments.
This position reports to the Ops. Director and works closely with project management and client representatives to ensure successful project delivery.

Field Execution Leadership
Lead daily field operations across multiple industrial construction projects
Direct Norrell craft labor, equipment resources, and subcontractors
Manage several active work fronts simultaneously while maintaining productivity and safety
Ensure field execution aligns with project budgets, schedules, and client expectations
Interface with plant operations, client project teams, and site safety personnel
Coordinate work inside active petrochemical facilities with strict permit and safety requirements
Manage work sequencing to minimize disruption to plant operations
Schedule & Work Planning
Develop and execute short-term and look-ahead work plans
Coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials to maintain schedule performance
Identify schedule risks early and implement corrective action
Safety Leadership
Lead by example in enforcing Norrell and client safety standards
Maintain a zero-incident safety culture across all projects
Conduct safety meetings, job safety analyses, and hazard reviews
Ensure compliance with plant safety requirements and permit systems
Quality Control
Ensure all construction activities meet project specifications and client standards
Perform routine inspections to verify quality and compliance
Prevent rework through proactive supervision and coordination
Resource Management
Coordinate craft labor, subcontractors, and equipment across multiple projects
Monitor productivity and adjust resources as needed to maintain schedule and cost targets
Work with project management to ensure materials and equipment are available when needed
Client Relationship Management
Serve as Norrell’s primary field representative with plant personnel and client project teams
Maintain strong relationships within client facilities
Represent Norrell professionally in all project interactions
Field Leadership & Team Development
Mentor assistant superintendents, foremen, and field personnel
Establish clear expectations for safety, productivity, and quality
Develop strong field teams capable of executing complex industrial work
Qualifications
10–15+ years of construction experience, with significant field leadership responsibility
Proven experience managing industrial civil construction projects within operating plants
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects or large project portfolios ($5M–$20M annually)
Strong experience with one or more of the following scopes:
Structural concrete foundations and slabs
Industrial earthwork and grading
Underground utilities and drainage systems
Industrial paving and site development
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules
Strong leadership and communication skills with both craft personnel and client representatives
TWIC card preferred or ability to obtain
