
Revenue Specialist

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Revenue Specialist to join their Finance & Accounting team in Austin. This is a key role supporting revenue recognition, billing, and collections while helping strengthen and scale revenue processes across the organization. This individual will act as a subject-matter resource for revenue and invoicing questions and play a meaningful role in ensuring financial accuracy and compliance in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
Review customer contracts and order forms to identify billing terms and performance obligations
Create, review, and issue customer invoices in accordance with contract terms and billing schedules
Support collections efforts as needed, including customer follow-ups
Ensure revenue is recognized accurately and in compliance with ASC 606
Maintain revenue and deferred revenue schedules and supporting documentation
Reconcile billed versus recognized revenue and investigate discrepancies
Support month-end close activities related to revenue and deferred revenue
Partner cross-functionally with Sales and Customer Success teams to resolve contract, billing, and revenue-related issues
Ensure accurate data flow between CRM and ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce to NetSuite)
Prepare audit support and respond to revenue-related audit requests
Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce manual work, and increase accuracy
Maintain clear documentation of revenue and billing processes and internal controls
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
2–3 years of relevant revenue accounting experience (startup environment preferred)
Strong understanding of GAAP principles with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
Experience with NetSuite highly preferred
SaaS industry experience strongly preferred
Self-starter comfortable navigating ambiguity and working in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable communicating directly with customers for billing or collections follow-ups
