Student Account Associate, Collections
This is a hybrid position located at our Virginia Science and Technology Campus in Ashburn, VA. The Student Accounts Office (SAO) is committed to providing excellent service to students throughout their educational experience at the George Washington University. SAO's goal is to ensure that student accounts are billed, collected, and reconciled in a timely manner that is compliant with university policy and all applicable federal regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: tuition, fees, room and board. Processing refunds, and billing for third party agreements. Main duties of the position include: Monitor past due awards to ensure that all recovery monies are properly recorded. Communicate with award sponsors that have past due invoices to establish time frames for payments. Research billing discrepancies. Work with Third Party Billing to identify and collect outstanding accounts via phone calls and emails. Monitor aging reports to take appropriate action to prevent past due receivables. Assist with the collections effort toward of student balances via phone calls, emails, and other communications Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc). Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. Minimum qualifications: Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management with experience Collection, credit, or customer service experience is desired.
