We are actively seeking Legal Administrators to support a Department of Education (DoED) program responsible for processing, reviewing, and managing claims under an agency-managed process. Legal Administrators will assist attorneys and program staff by managing documentation workflows, organizing case files, preparing summaries, and ensuring compliance with established procedures and federal guidelines. This is a full-time remote position that may require personnel to be onsite in Washington D.C. with a 24 hour notice. A Public Trust clearance will be required.




Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and case-management support to attorneys and adjudication staff.

  • Organize, track, and maintain digital case files and documentation related to claims submitted under the Department of Education program.

  • Review submissions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with program requirements.

  • Prepare case summaries, issue logs, and status updates for attorney review.

  • Conduct preliminary assessments of documentation to identify missing information or inconsistencies.

  • Communicate with internal staff to request additional information or clarification when needed.

  • Enter and update case information in designated databases, systems, or case-management tools.

  • Ensure timely processing of assigned cases in accordance with program deadlines and quality standards.

  • Assist with drafting templates, correspondence, and administrative determinations.

  • Support quality-assurance activities, reporting requirements, and data tracking as needed.

  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings to maintain consistent process knowledge.


Qualifications


  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.

  • Experience in a legal, administrative, compliance, or government-program environment strongly preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage large volumes of documentation.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to understand and follow structured processes, federal guidelines, and program procedures.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and document-management systems.

  • Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information securely.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently or as part of a team.


Preferred Experience


  • Experience supporting federal programs, legal teams, case-processing units, or administrative adjudication environments.

  • Familiarity with federal regulations, Department of Education programs, or claim-review processes.

  • Experience working in a compliance or documentation-heavy role.
