Worship Leader
Job Description
Purpose:
The Worship Leader shall be responsible for the oversight, direction, and leadership of the worship service music at Shady Oaks Baptist Church. (Media oversight and leadership is a bonus)
Qualifications:
Be a member of Shady Oaks Baptist Church, having given a clear testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ
An individual who leads a servant/leader life and is personally committed to maintaining a moral and spiritual lifestyle as described in Scripture
Believe and affirm the doctrines as stated in the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message.
A degree in music is required, seminary training is encouraged.
Two or more years of experience leading church worship is preferred
Possess interpersonal and relational skills for working with the congregation
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a strategic plan for the music ministry.
Plan, direct, and perform the music for all regular and special services of worship.
Oversee and give direction to all individuals involved with worship services.
Provide leadership, training, curriculum, programs, and equipment to encourage the development of leaders in all areas of ministry and outreach.
Maintain pastoral contact with individuals, couples, and families.
Work in harmony with the pastor and fellow ministry leaders
Develop and execute a financial budget for the music and worship ministry
