Assistant Director of Athletics and Activities Wayzata High School FTE: 1.0 Compensation Range: $121,850-$148,606 (Depending on Education and Experience) *Please see the Level 4-8 Unaffiliated Handbook for more information

Position Description The Assistant Athletic/Activities Director assists the athletic/activities director in supervising, managing, coordinating, and planning the total operation of the extracurricular programs, athletics, activities, and related athletic facility operations for grades 6-12.

Position Specific Responsibilities

Work weeks may exceed 40 hours per week based on evening and weekend events (40-60 hours).

Coordinate facilities meetings with facilities coordinator, City of Plymouth, etc.

Administer the adapted athletic program.

Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Activities.

Training and Experience

Required: Three to five years of head coaching/advising experience and/or experience in student activities administration.

Strongly Preferred: Experience as an Athletics Director or Assistant Athletics Director

Extensive experience with technology; Arbiter/Bound scheduling, Skyward registration systems, Google drives, and online ticketing platforms.

Leadership experiences in education, activities, or high school sports.

Licensing Requirements

Required: Bachelor of Arts / 4 year College Degree

Preferred: Teacher's license and/or Master's Degree in Sports/Activities Management/Educational Leadership

Knowledge and Skills

Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of supervision and be a self-starter.

Excellent organizational and human relations skills.

Evidence of successful conflict resolution skills.

Excellent evaluation and written communication skills and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

Highly competent in technology related to activities management.
