The University of South Dakota Foundation & Alumni Association (USDFAA) is seeking a dynamic, relationship‑driven fundraiser to join our team as Assistant Athletic Director & Director of Development – Athletics.
This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in advancing USD Athletics—connecting passionate alumni and donors to the student‑athlete experience and helping fuel scholarships, facilities, and programmatic growth.
Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director & Chief Revenue Officer for the Yote Fund, this role will lead major gift fundraising efforts by building strong relationships, developing strategic engagement plans, and driving philanthropic support for key athletics priorities.
What You’ll Do
Manage and grow a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors
Develop and execute personalized strategies to secure philanthropic support
Engage alumni, donors, and friends of USD through meaningful interactions and visits
Partner with athletics leadership, coaches, and university colleagues to align donor interests with program needs
Represent USD Athletics and the Yote Fund at events, games, and engagement opportunities
Contribute to campaign initiatives and help build a strong pipeline of future support
What We’re Looking For
Proven ability to build relationships and secure philanthropic gifts
Strong communication, organization, and follow‑through
Experience in fundraising, development, or a related field (higher ed or athletics preferred)
A collaborative mindset and passion for advancing student‑athlete success
