The Underground Utility Foreman will be responsible for supervising crews that install wet and dry utilities in a variety of settings including water lines, storm drain and sanitary sewer lines, and dry conduits. A pipe layer/operator will be assigned to a variety of jobs ranging from heavy highway, underground utilities, commercial site work, street improvements, waste water and water projects. Experience with TXDOT or any DOT work is preferred as well as having experience with Deep Excavation. Read, understand, interpret and enforce safety policies and practices. Examine blueprints to determine dimensions of structure. Lays out floor plan/worksite as needed. Determines sequence of activities concerned with fabrication, assembly, and erection of structure. Assigns workers to tasks. Inspects work performed by subordinates to ensure conformance with specifications. Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product to increase efficiency of work crew. Analyzes and resolves work problems, assists workers in solving work problems, initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Maintains time and production records. Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials. Maintains a general knowledge of equipment used on the job including basic understanding of equipment limits and designed purposes. Qualifications
Minimum 10 years experience with underground utility installation. Minimum 5 years experience as a foreman over a crew. Prefer experience installing Storm Sewer/RCP, Waterline, and Sanitary Sewer. OSHA 30 is a plus. Flexible availability to include overtime and weekends. Having a crew to come with is a plus. Benefits Include
