The Civil Superintendent
is responsible for
leading and overseeing all field operations on heavy
highway
and civil construction projects. This role ensures work is performed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in compliance with project plans and specifications. The Civil Superintendent provides day-to-day leadership to crews, coordinates closely with project management and clients, and plays a critical role in driving productivity, quality, and cost control while fostering a strong safety culture.

Duties and Responsibilities
Champion
a
safety-first culture

ensuring safety standards and best practices are followed at all times.
Recruit, train, mentor, and develop craft and field personnel to build high-performing teams.
Maintain clear, consistent communication with crews, project engineers, safety staff, subcontractors, and clients.
Oversee project schedules to ensure milestones are met; coordinate labor, subcontractors, equipment, and material deliveries.
Ensure all construction activities
comply with
project drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.
Assist
in developing and executing work plans, including
manpower
forecasting, material quantities, equipment needs, and scheduling.
Monitor project budgets and enforce cost-control measures to meet financial objectives.
Proactively
identify
potential issues such as work conflicts, schedule impacts, or resource constraints, and collaborate with project management to resolve them.
Lead and manage discipline teams by setting expectations, delegating responsibilities, and driving productivity and quality work in alignment with company policies, industry standards, and client expectations.
Perform
additional
duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum
5+ years
of experience in a supervisory or superintendent role.
10+ years
of experience as
a foreman
or supervisor in the
Heavy Highway/Civil Construction
industry.
Extensive knowledge of civil construction means, methods, and sequencing.
Strong understanding of cost control, planning, and scheduling processes.
Proven ability to manage and lead crews of
20+ employees
.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to
identify
and resolve discrepancies.
Positive, team-oriented attitude with strong leadership and motivational abilities.
Effective time-management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Valid Driver's License
required
.
Working Conditions This project
is
located
in
Point Pleasant, West Virginia
.
Subsequent
projects will be nationally based.
Work is primarily performed on active
construction
job sites, including highways, roadways, and heavy civil infrastructure projects.
Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and dust.
Position requires walking, standing, climbing, bending, and lifting in a construction environment.
May require extended work hours, early mornings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays to meet project schedules.
Frequent interaction with heavy equipment, moving machinery, traffic, and construction hazards; strict adherence to safety protocols is
required
.
Travel between job sites may be required depending on project location.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory at all job sites.
