Salary: commensurate based on qualifications and relevant experience up to $54,000. Pay Basis: Monthly.

Job Summary The Community Events & Alumni Coordinator will assist in developing and leading special events and community engagement efforts for the College of Business (COB). The position will be responsible for major event planning, cultivating opportunities to engage with alumni, donors, and community partners, and collaborating with various campus divisions to execute alumni events and engagement strategy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate, host, and assist with multiple major events annually (i.e., award ceremonies, conferences, banquets, and community events, etc.).

Responsible for securing space and equipment; independently coordinate terms and prices with vendors; managing budgets; coordinating technical and production aspects in partnership with Marketing Team; and making decisions regarding event set-up, design, décor and the overall attendee experience.

Assist with the College’s Calendar of Events.

Consult with College of Business academic departments on their major events by sharing vendors, creating standards of practice for COB events, and communication strategies to enhance the attendee experience.

Oversee major aspects of alumni engagement programming.

Develop creative means for alumni to connect and engage with the College.

Create and plan activities and events that foster a sense of alumni pride and engagement.

Work collaboratively with campus departments to assist in the coordination and execution of the College’s alumni relations efforts to increase participation and opportunities to cultivate relationships.

Serve as the primary point of contact for alumni customer service and other general alumni inquiries.

Promote alumni and community engagement events, campaigns, activities and opportunities using various channels managed by Marketing.

Assist in highlighting our alumni by sharing alumni news and success stories by partnering with members of the marketing team.

Assist in gathering alumni feedback through various surveys to further program excellence and academic rankings.

May serve on various committees; may serve as the COB representative at various community events.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field.

Two (2) years of experience in event planning, alumni relations, community outreach, marketing, program management or six (6) years of an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Higher Education or a non‑profit environment with planning, promoting, and executing high‑profile events.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge related to alumni relations and community outreach.

Skilled in management, budgeting, and advanced project planning.

Skilled in technology use and decision‑making.

Skilled in written and verbal communication.

Ability to model the College’s values through advanced customer experience skills, effective time management and collaborative teamwork.
