Key Responsibilities

Participate in fit sessions, capturing detailed fit comments, measurements, and construction notes in real time.

Evaluate garment fit and balance on live models or forms and clearly articulate pattern and construction adjustments.

Update and maintain detailed tech packs, including measurements, construction details, BOMs, and specifications.

Partner with patternmakers and product development to ensure pattern changes reflect fit direction and brand standards.

Support multiple categories including denim, cut & sew knits, and wovens (no outerwear or leather required).

Review prototypes and SMS for construction quality, stitch details, finishing, and consistency with approved specs.

Communicate clearly with internal teams on all fit and construction updates, ensuring information is accurate and timely.

Help troubleshoot construction and pattern issues to improve fit, consistency, and cost-efficiency.

Must-Have Qualifications

Strong

pattern knowledge

(understanding of pattern shapes, grading, fit implications, and alterations).

Proven experience

taking and organizing fit comments

and notes during fittings.

Solid

garment construction knowledge

across denim, knits, and wovens, including seams, finishes, and stitch types.

Experience working

across categories

such as denim, cut & sew, and wovens (denim expertise welcomed but not required). Ability to interpret designer’s intent and translate into clear, technical direction.

Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and tight timelines.

Proficiency with standard industry tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator and PLM or similar systems) for updating tech packs.

Professional experience as a Technical Designer or related role; not entry-level, but not requiring senior-level leadership.

Nice-to-Have

Background with contemporary or designer-level brands, or strong technical depth from smaller, highly hands-on companies.

Experience collaborating closely with overseas factories and vendors.

Strong eye for proportion and brand-right fit for a modern, directional aesthetic.
