Job Description Qualifications:
Hold a valid Kentucky Teaching Certificate; Master Degree; a minimum of five (5) years professional teaching experience; preferred experience in elementary
Minimum of two (2) yrs. Experience in leadership in instruction, curriculum/assessment, and/or literacy (Dept. Chair, District Committees, Resource/Mentor Teacher, SBDM Member, Consultant, etc.)
Basic technological/computer skills with knowledge of Google Classroom and tools
Responsibilities:
Assists with curriculum alignment and mapping
Works with teachers, in all subject areas, on skills, needed to be successful on assessments.
Assists staff with use of KY Academy Standards and facilitates horizontal and vertical alignment throughout district
Professional learning to teachers during team planning, after school, and PLCs
Coaches and models a variety of instructional strategies designed to be rigorous and that mirror assessment
Assists schools and district in developing and implementing a comprehensive literacy plan/program
Attends appropriate meetings and professional learning opportunities that focus on structured literacy, content knowledge, instructional strategies, etc.
Ensures district timelines are met and works with principals and teachers in addressing achievement gaps and priority areas of need
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or superintendent
