OVERVIEW Account Specialist – Property & Casualty

Location: Hybrid

At Alera Group, our Property & Casualty team helps businesses protect their assets, manage risk, and plan confidently for the future. We’re seeking an Account Specialist who will support risk strategy, client service excellence, and operational accuracy.

This role will support Account Managers and Account Executives by delivering timely, consistent, and high-quality service that drives customer satisfaction and client retention. In this role, you’ll assist with marketing, renewals, policy processing, and day‑to‑day service needs—helping the team move efficiently from submission through policy delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES What You'll Do / Your Impact

Account Service & Carrier Submissions

Assist in preparation of quality submissions to carriers on behalf of clients and prospects.

Review and analyze quotations received from carriers; help compare terms, conditions, and pricing.

Prepare professional proposals and pre‑renewal materials for client presentation.

Quote online small business when applicable.

Policy Processing, Endorsements & Certificates

Request and review endorsements for accuracy; perform final policy checks before delivery to clients.

Prepare and deliver timely binders and invoices upon binding of coverage; secure premium financing when needed.

Prepare liability and property certificate templates and issue certificates.

Process premium audits and support resolution of complex audits and disputes.

Client, Producer & Internal Collaboration

Follow up in a timely, professional manner with clients, carriers, producers, and peers; maintain and prioritize workload.

Perform contract review with respect to insurance requirements; review contractual insurance requirements as needed.

Maintain client data and correspondence in agency systems (Sagitta, ImageRight, Indio); participate in monthly renewal meetings.

Prepare premium allocations and 5‑year snapshots; submit detailed claims to the claims department when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS What You Bring

Required

2+ years of insurance industry experience (commercial lines preferred)

Active resident state insurance agent license

Strong working knowledge of commercial coverages and common servicing workflows

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and comfort working in agency systems.

Preferred

Agency management system experience; AMS Sagitta, ImageRight, and Indio preferred

Industry‑related certifications/designations

College degree preferred (or equivalent work experience)

Technical aptitude to learn carrier requirements, underwriting guidelines, and agency systems

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Compensation Salary range: $24 to $31 per hour
