Providing transformational change to the child welfare system in Region 5 Position Summary Texas Family Care Network is seeking a dedicated and passionate Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team serving the 15 counties in Deep East Texas. The Community Engagement Coordinator will play a crucial role in working with child welfare boards and other community partners to improve the lives of children in the foster care system and building capacity in the region by conducting outreach to existing and new service providers and educating about the progression of community-based care in our community.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

Work closely with child welfare boards across the 15 counties of Texas Family Care Network to identify and address the needs of children in the foster care system.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with board members, providing support and guidance as needed.

Actively participate in individual and/or group supervision and staff meetings.

Make presentations at faith-based events and community gatherings.

Create presentations and educational material for the community.

Develop and design flyers and articles for media.

Utilize Data Warehouse, IMPACT, and other technology systems.

Collect and analyze data related to community engagement efforts, including the number of partnerships established, events organized, and individuals reached.

Prepare regular reports summarizing progress, outcomes, and recommendations for improvement.

Identify existing service providers in the region and assess their capacity to meet the needs of children in foster care.

Develop strategies to enhance these providers’ capacity and actively seek out new providers to expand the support network available to children and families.

Independently seek out resources and learning opportunities to foster ongoing professional growth.

Conduct outreach activities to educate and inform service providers, community partners, and the general public about community-based care, the foster care system, and the needs of children within it.

Develop and deliver training sessions on relevant topics to enhance the knowledge and skills of stakeholders.

Promote and demonstrate appropriate respect for cultural diversity among coworkers and all work-related contacts.

Report expenses and provide supporting documentation; adhere to deadlines for expense reports.

Establish and maintain partnerships with various community organizations, including schools, churches, non-profits, and government agencies.

Collaborate with these partners to develop programs and initiatives that support the well-being of children in foster care.

Represent the mission, vision, and values of Texas Family Care Networks and the joint values of community-based care providers in Texas.

Assist Senior Director of Community Engagement with tracking donations and/or contributions received and distributed.

Sort and organize donations in the Sunshine room.

Comply and adhere to the professional and ethical standards of conduct established by the organization.

Complete online learning and policy acknowledgements by due date.

Attend and participate in all required trainings.

Independently assess and prioritize tasks to manage time.

Complete other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Community Engagement.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree required.

Valid state driver’s license, safe driving record, and current auto insurance.

Three (3) years of experience in community engagement, child welfare, or a related field.

Knowledge of the foster care system and child welfare services.

DPS, DFPS, FBI, CBCU Eligibility Determination, and Child Abuse Clearances.
