Summary
Hatalom is seeking an Instructional Systems Designer (ISD). The ISD will support the design, development, and implementation of training solutions across a range of program requirements. This position will develop Computer-Based Training (CBT) for Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) and Instructor-Led Training (ILT), supporting classroom, distributed, and mobile delivery environments. The role applies instructional systems design methodologies to create scalable, performance-based training aligned with mission and program objectives.
The ISD will collaborate with internal and external Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), instructional designers, multimedia developers, artists, systems/software engineers, and government stakeholders to deliver high-quality courseware and training products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Apply established instructional systems design methodologies across all phases of the training lifecycle, including needs assessment, analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation.
Design and develop training solutions in support of program objectives and evolving mission requirements.
Lead development and packaging of training products using computer-based training (CBT) authoring systems.
Design, develop, and review adult learning solutions for delivery within immersive 3D virtual environments and traditional training platforms.
Conduct task and performance analysis to define learning objectives and align training with job requirements.
Collaborate with SMEs to develop content and realistic, performance-based training scenarios.
Translate complex technical and operational content into structured instructional materials.
Develop digital storyboards, interactive learning activities, and supporting materials.
Design and implement evaluation and assessment instruments to measure training effectiveness.
Collaborate with engineers, artists, and developers to determine appropriate media and technical approaches for IMI products.
Support the development and maintenance of standardized training products and reusable content components.
Participate in program reviews and coordinate curriculum development in a multi-company, multi-functional team environment.
Support Quality Assurance processes, including testing and issue resolution.
Respond to stakeholder feedback and implement improvements to training products.
Ensure deliverables are completed within budget and schedule constraints.
Education, Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Human Performance, I/O Psychology, or related field.
3 years of experience in instructional systems design, training development, or related field.
Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) training programs preferred.
Experience applying ISD methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM).
Proficiency with eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Storyline, Articulate, etc.).
Experience developing training for mobile, distributed, or immersive environments.
Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
