Job Summary The Communications Specialist is responsible for planning, creating, and managing all parish or diocesan communications to effectively promote the mission of the Catholic Church. This role supports evangelization by ensuring clear, consistent, and engaging messaging across print, digital, and in-person platforms.
Job Responsibilities Develop and implement communication plans for events and ministries Maintain consistent branding and messaging across all channels Monitor engagement and adjust strategies accordingly
Event Promotion & Support Promote parish events, liturgies, and programs Coordinate communication timelines and materials for campaigns Assist with event planning and execution when needed
Internal & External Communication Serve as a liaison between parish staff, ministries, and the community Support communication between the parish and the diocese Handle public inquiries and assist with media relations if required
Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field (or equivalent experience) Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills Proficiency in social media and website management Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe tools) Excellent organizational and time management abilities
