REQ-40694**About the Internship:**As a Newsroom Intern, you’ll gain valuable behind-the-scenes exposure to the daily operations of a broadcast newsroom. This internship is designed to give students practical experience while working alongside experienced journalists, producers, and assignment editors.**Responsibilities:*** Assist reporters, producers, and digital teams in story research and development* Help with logging interviews, organizing scripts, and gathering visual elements* Attend editorial meetings and contribute to story ideas* Shadow field crews on shoots and live reports (as available)* Support the digital news team with web and social media content* Learn industry-standard tools and newsroom software**Qualifications:*** Current enrollment in a college or university program (Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or related field preferred)* Strong interest in television news and storytelling* Excellent communication and organizational skills* Ability to take initiative and work in a deadline-driven environment* Availability to intern 10–15 hours per week**What You’ll Gain:*** Real-world newsroom experience* Mentorship from industry professionals* A chance to build your portfolio and resume* Insight into career paths in broadcast and digital journalism* Possible future employment within Nexstar Media Group**Note:** This is an unpaid internship and is intended for college credit.
