About the Role As the Director of Environmental Services, you will lead our maintenance and housekeeping teams to ensure the highest standards of mechanical building systems, including HVAC, roofing, and electrical systems; safety, and regulatory requirements across the community.
This role blends leadership, operations, and hands‑on problem‑solving. You'll be a key member of the leadership team and a visible, trusted presence for residents.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily mechanical operations of building systems, maintenance and housekeeping teams
Recruit, train, and mentor team members to deliver exceptional service
Develop and manage departmental budgets, inventory, and vendor relationships
Ensure compliance with all safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards
Implement preventative maintenance programs for building systems and equipment
Oversee construction and renovation projects to improve efficiency and ensure facility meets environmental, health, safety, and government regulations
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment and electrical/mechanical systems
Participate in architectural and engineering planning and design
Plan, administer and control budgets for contracts, equipment and supplies
Set goals for the department for operational efficiency
Partner with community leadership to support resident satisfaction and community initiatives
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and environmental concerns
Maintain accurate records, work orders, and inspection reports
Qualifications
Prior experience in a leadership role in Environmental Services, preferably in senior living or related field
Strong knowledge of mechanical building systems including HVAC, roofing, and electrical systems, housekeeping standards, and safety protocols
Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team with professionalism
Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
A resident‑first mindset and commitment to high quality service
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Experience with real estate or property management software preferred including AppFolio, Yardi, or similar applications
