Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
Support the Public Relations team in generating positive consumer and trade media coverage for Hearst Magazines brands and business initiatives
Monitor press coverage and compile clear, insightful recap reports
Create, update, and manage targeted media lists
Assist in planning and executing editor appearances and speaking engagements, including interviews, panels, keynotes, and broadcast segments
Conduct research and draft talking points to support media opportunities
Identify new press targets and speaking opportunities to expand brand visibility
Provide on‑site PR support for events as needed
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless execution of PR initiatives
Qualifications (What We’re Looking For)
Demonstrated interest in publishing, media, communications, and public relations, particularly within culture, entertainment, and lifestyle spaces
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information
Creative, curious, and collaborative mindset
Familiar with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, PhotoShop
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Based in New York City with a hybrid schedule of 4 days per week in‑office
The hourly rate for this role is $20 per hour. This position may be eligible for additional benefits and compensation, subject to applicable eligibility requirements.
