
Dermatology Thought Leader Liaison

Job Description
The Dermatology Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) is a key member of the brand strategic marketing team. The TLL is the primary point of contact for the AbbVie Marketing team within an assigned region, interacting with External Experts to gather on‑label insight aligned with company strategic plans for a specific therapeutic area. The TLL partners with franchise marketing leads and field leaders to develop regional commercial marketing plans and ensure consistent execution with regional and national strategy.
Key Responsibilities Thought Leader Engagement and Development
Interact with national, regional, and local External Experts, emerging leaders, and relevant patient and professional associations to identify collaboration and sponsorship opportunities in alignment with marketing strategies.
Develop regional engagement plans consistent with brand strategic plans and ensure consistent tactical execution throughout the year to drive key marketing engagement.
Peer to Peer Support
Identify and recruit faculty for national series rollout and speaker training.
Consult with HCPs on peer‑to‑peer content development.
Provide training on HCP‑led slide deck content, updates, and alignment to brand strategy.
Identify key KOLs for national and regional conference product theaters.
Uncover regional speaker program opportunities based on local market dynamics and guide speaker selection and content to align with the local audience.
Marketing Initiatives
Lead projects compliantly and effectively through the promotional review process to deliver high‑quality work on time, ensuring regulatory guidelines and AbbVie policies are followed.
Provide in‑depth insights to the Integrated Brand Team and commercial senior leadership based on brand key business questions to inform marketing strategy and resource optimization.
Lead field competitive insights for the assigned region.
Understand objectives and key business insights for advisory meetings, identify and recruit appropriate HCP targets, and assist in advisory board facilitation.
Understand a specific geographical area’s market drivers, competitive landscape, and provider dynamics.
Coordinate the work of multiple external vendors and internal departments, including Agency Partners, Marketing, Market Research, Legal, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Office of Ethics and Compliance, Consumer Marketing, and IT.
Marketing Leader in Key Accounts
Demonstrate an in‑depth understanding of external and internal drivers within the account.
Lead marketing for key accounts and institutions in the assigned region, connecting AbbVie’s Integrated Brand Teams to potential collaboration opportunities.
Align and prioritize account initiatives for IBT.
Scope and Key Skills
Manage effective written and oral communications with External Experts, confidently representing AbbVie’s interests.
Translate market trends, insights, and competitive practices to identify business opportunities and support strategic and tactical plans.
Maintain a working knowledge of industry information sources (MD/Channel level data, audits, secondary data, and primary research) and use appropriate data to evaluate promotional effectiveness.
Collaborate and work team‑oriented, influencing results without authority.
Track and manage the marketing budget, including conventions, advisory board meetings, speaker programs, and budget‑constrained meetings.
Consistently deliver high‑quality work on time across multiple projects.
Adhere to regulatory guidelines, with knowledge of applicable regulations affecting pharmaceutical products.
Understand the attributes of other AbbVie internal functional areas and the impact of relevant decisions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Previous experience in sales, sales management, or marketing, with at least 2 years in Immunology (preferred).
Travel up to 60% of the time, including some weekends.
Collaborative working style, able to work across an integrated team and align priorities with business impact.
Driving personal auto or company vehicle, or a powered material handling equipment.
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay that the company believes in good faith it will pay for this role based on the job grade. Individual compensation within this range will depend on various factors, including geographic location.

This job is eligible to participate in our short‑term incentive programs.
