Position Summary
Wisconsin State Fair Park (WSFP) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Advertising & Project Manager. This position will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution and delivery of advertising campaigns and creative marketing projects on behalf of WSFP brand properties such as the Wisconsin State Fair, Milwaukee Mile racing, Harvest Fair and other events.
The Advertising & Project Manager requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with a good understanding of design and advertising trends. They will serve as a conduit between the Marketing & Communications and Creative Services departments to ensure delivery of marketing campaigns to support maximum impact and reach to target audiences.
This position is an essential part of the Marketing Division, currently reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer.
Employment Type This position is an unclassified, Dual-Limited Term Employment (LTE) position within the State of Wisconsin employment system, working an average of 40 hours per week throughout the calendar year. Annual hours worked will not exceed 2,078.
Compensation & Benefits The starting wage for this role will be $27.00 to $29.00 per hour, based on qualifications. A comprehensive fringe benefits package, including a pension, health and dental insurance, life insurance, and disability insurance is available after a minimum employment period is met.
Paid time off for vacation, holidays, etc. is not included as part of the benefits package
per State of Wisconsin Legislature, s. 230.26(4), Wis. Stats.

Essential Functions Advertising Leadership
In conjunction with the Marketing leadership team, consistently strive to improve upon existing advertising and branding campaigns for various aspects of the WSFP brand properties.
Create and propagate WSFP brand messaging that is true to the vision of the organization and will resonate with target demographics.
Support the Creative Director in campaign development to reach intended demographics with inclusion of both traditional (print, broadcast, OOH) as well as digital and social media (digital display/ad networks, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, OTT, etc.).
Manage relationships with marketing agencies to assist with media buying, creative production and social media.
Coordinate with local radio stations for added value promotions.
Execute radio promotions for concerts and event tickets, including ticket requests and supervising on-site presence.
Manage and fulfill ticket orders for concert and general promotions.
Understand customer behavior and market trends to tailor advertising accordingly and ensure it meets the needs and interests of the audience.
Lead the process for the continuous evaluation of trends and adjust strategy to capitalize on shifts in the marketplace.
Creative Project Management
Oversee the entire lifecycle of creative projects, from conception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Act as liaison with internal departments, project stakeholders, and Creative Services team to create engaging marketing materials for advertising channels, printed and digital collateral, social media marketing, email marketing, agency websites, etc.
Leverage project management software to manage formal project requests to Creative Services team, communicating scope of project, asset sizes, copy, deadlines, etc.
Create, populate, and manage asset tracking tools, including project management software, for the fulfillment of internal projects.
Lead, coordinate, and schedule meetings on Creative Services team project development, progress, expectations, deadlines, etc.
Adapt and relay project changes (project scope, requirements, end uses, and deadlines) to Creative Services team, Sign Shop, Marketing Division and WSFP departments.
Marketing Division Leadership
Lead the planning of certain marketing events for Wisconsin State Fair Park.
Ensure positive communication between departments when gathering and disseminating information.
Brainstorm and develop engaging marketing ideas that resonate with the target audience and align with brand identity.
Evaluate and identify opportunities for continuous improvement processes on behalf of the Marketing Division.
Qualifications
4+ years of advertising and/or marketing experience.
Project management skills to plan, coordinate, and oversee various projects from conception to completion within specified deadlines.
Event planning and execution experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and organizational knowledge of project management platforms.
Strong planning, time management, organizational skills and high attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and address process-related issues, as well as develop strategies to meet advertising objectives.
Special Notes The candidate must be able to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, at times leading up to and during the Wisconsin State Fair, Milwaukee Mile race, Harvest Fair and other events. Prior to appointment to this position, the candidate will be subject to a comprehensive criminal background check.
Contingent on business needs and the seasonality of WSFP, up to 2 days of remote work per week is available after an initial training period. Remote work will be discussed during the interview stage. High speed internet access is needed to meet the requirements of remote work.
