Medical Research Tech II- IAS Lab Tech
Employees in this classification provide support in an assigned research laboratory performing laboratory experiments and procedures. Assists with the development of new procedures and techniques to be utilized within the laboratory. Performs other functional duties such as maintenance of the laboratory and laboratory equipment and supplies. Work is performed under usual laboratory conditions. Some hazards may be present due to use of radioactive, carcinogenic or other potentially harmful substances. Assists in training and direction of subordinate personnel.

Major/Essential Functions
Adhere to applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to use of anatomical lab space and cadaveric material.
Follows and ensures compliance with operational procedures for the use of anatomical lab space.
Facilitates the setup of anatomical labs and specimens for teaching, training, and research in IAS facilities.
Assures that laboratory supply inventory is procured and ready for use.
Supports the orientation of students, faculty, staff, and others on policies and procedures to be followed in the IAS.
Provide and maintain the Institute of Anatomical Sciences(IAS) release forms and other compliance forms for visitors.
Prepares and maintains an orderly, clean anatomy lab prior to each lab use, including during unannounced tours/inspections.
Maintain a safe microbial environment within the anatomy lab, preparation, and storage areas through the use of mechanical, physical, and chemical methods.
Participates in the anatomical cadaveric specimen inventory process.
Support the supervision of IAS graduate assistants.
Supports the IAS Unit Assistant Director in the preventative maintenance and safety inspection schedules for the IAS facility and lab equipment.
Maintains close communication with IAS Team.

Assists in the annual equipment inventory certification process across IAS facilities.
Assists with facility maintenance work order submission.
