
Residential Structural Designer (Wood Framing Focus)

One of our California-based clients is looking for a Structural Design Engineer to join their team full-time, supporting single-family residential developments.

What you will do ;Produce structural drawings for residential projects using AutoCAD templates, layers, and standard details .Design and detail wood framing systems for one- to three-story residential structures .Support the design of concrete foundations and related structural elements .Assist with shear wall and foundation design using in-house tools and workflows .Use Tekla Tedds and Forte (ForteWeb) to support wood design and other structural elements as needed .Review architectural backgrounds and layouts (often from Revit models or exports) and translate them into structural drafting deliverables .Prepare and organize structural calculation packages following established company formats .Maintain high accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery in line with firm standards .Collaborate with architects and internal teams to ensure coordinated and efficient project execution .Track time, communicate progress, and adapt to project schedules aligned primarily with Pacific Time . What you'll need to kno w:Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineerin g.Advanced English leve l.+4 years of experience in structural engineering desig n.Experience working on single-family residential project s.Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revi t.Strong understanding of wood framing and concrete structural system s.Solid knowledge of structural fundamentals including statics and mechanics of material s.Ability to work with deadlines, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality work on tim e.Availability to align with Pacific Time working hour s.
