A growing multidisciplinary engineering firm is seeking a Civil Designer to support residential land development projects in the Charlotte area. This role focuses on greenfield single-family residential subdivision design and offers the opportunity to work on projects from initial planning through construction support.

Civil Designer Job Description

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys collaborative project work, technical design, and working with builders and developers on community-scale developments.

Responsibilities

Prepare civil engineering design plans for residential land development projects

Develop grading, roadway, storm drainage, and utility plans using Civil 3D

Assist with stormwater management design, erosion control plans, and permitting documentation

Support project teams through design, documentation, permitting, and construction phases

Coordinate with engineers, designers, and project managers to meet deadlines and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

B.S. in Civil Engineering (EIT preferred)

2+ years of experience in land development design, ideally residential subdivisions

Experience with Civil 3D design including grading, roadway profiles, utilities, and storm drainage

Familiarity with stormwater management and erosion control practices

Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a deadline-driven environment

Experience with HydroCAD, Hydraflow, Bluebeam, and related design software preferred
