Position Overview Caterpillar’s Construction Industries’ Core Solutions is hiring a Technical Marketing Consultant for Caterpillar’s Customer Services Core Region Division. The role focuses on delivering customer‑facing technical marketing content to support new introductions and updates for aftermarket products, technologies, and services, driving exceptional customer experiences.
Role Summary
Effectively communicate product/service value proposition and differentiation in the market.
Create positive customer experiences across channels.
Support go‑to‑market commercial strategies.
Ensure go‑to‑market readiness is achieved and marketing content is visible in critical channels.
Responsibilities
Serve as Content Work Stream Lead on the GTM team, ensuring alignment with GTM partners.
Collaborate with product specialists, regional marketing teams, and engineers.
Develop product marketing to convey value‑selling messages, differentiated from competitors, focused on solutions and customer needs.
Develop global core content plans (deliverables, languages, due dates) per content strategy.
Write and deliver core content marketing materials for aftermarket products, technologies, and services (videos, technical specifications documents, web pages, brochures, etc.) and optimize for AI and organic search.
Partner with enterprise process owners and external suppliers to execute and publish content, overseeing project management and utilizing internal systems for production, publication, translation, and asset management.
Manage complex strategic initiatives to support product differentiation, business competitiveness, agility, and stakeholder engagement.
Drive strategic, solution‑oriented thinking, positive change management, content quality, and process improvements.
Qualifications
Customer‑centric solution delivery – anticipating customer needs and building trust‑based relationships.
Effective communication – clear messaging across audiences, constructive feedback, adaptable messaging.
Creative problem solving – generating innovative ideas, improving processes, evaluating new approaches.
Relationship & vendor management – managing client and vendor relationships, evaluating satisfaction, resolving issues.
Technical writing & value selling – developing clear technical documentation and articulating product benefits.
Additional Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience.
Demonstrated marketing experience, particularly product marketing.
Strong customer focus, effective communications, relationship and vendor management, creativity.
Proficiency in digital marketing tactics and analytics.
Proven ability to translate technical features into customer benefits and differentiate the product from competitors.
Comfort reporting to senior and executive management with effective messaging.
Additional Details
Preferred work location: Peoria, IL; Chicago, IL; Cary, NC will also be considered.
Domestic relocation assistance available for Peoria, IL only for qualifying candidates.
International and domestic travel up to 15% of time.
Position requires onsite work five days a week.
Pay Range $97,530.00 – $146,290.00 (summary; actual compensation may vary based on location, experience, and performance)
