Job Description A client of Insight Global is seeking a Mortgage Loan Closer II who is responsible for all closing packages. They must comply with Federal, State, Investor, Secondary, and company guideline and regulations.
Reviews loan approval, rate lock, appraisal, title work, insurance, flood certificate, survey, and payoffs for validity
Fast-paced closing environment - needs to be adaptable and organized
Verifies county recording fees
Reconciles source documents to data contained within LOS
Prepares closing disclosures for management and borrower review
Sends and track specific documents electronically to borrowers based on TRID timing rules
Communicates with the borrower and or Closing Agent to set expectations for closing and confirm important details
Coordinates closing date and time with all applicable parties
Orders closing packages from doc prep attorneys specific to loan type
Reviews documents for accuracy
Balances Closing Disclosure (CD) with the title company and issue approval
Delivers closing documents to title company via secure methods
Ensures all closing and funding conditions are satisfied
Reviews executed documents for completeness and accuracy
Requests and prepare wires
Issues funding authorization
Maintains real time loan status within LOS
Communicates details with borrowers, title companies, vendors, and internal staff throughout the process
Assists with investor conditions and post-closing functions
Ensures customer privacy, security of files, and appropriate staff access
Assists Closing Manager in identifying process improvement needs and providing support to the training team to develop any necessary training required for such improvement (s)
Mentors individual closers for questions and/or assistance they may require for loans, systems, or process-related items. Assists with escalations, priority requests, and staging needs.
Trains new Closers
Functions as a team lead
Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills & Experience
3 years of direct mortgage loan closing experience
Proficient with Encompass, or similar loan operating system, and running a desktop underwriting program
Strong attention to detail and possess good math skills
Excellent communication skills; must be professional, courteous, and confident
Strong working knowledge of FNMA, FHA, VA, DPA, USDA guidelines
Thorough understanding of mortgage terminology like DTI, LTV, and PITI
Understanding of real estate lending practices including federal and state regulations
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining outstanding customer service
Team Player with effective time management and organizational skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Notary commission by the states of Texas and Oklahoma
Compensation Compensation:
$52,000 - $58,000/year
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
