
Chevrolet New Vehicle Sales Consultant

POSITION SUMMARY
The Chevrolet New Vehicle Sales Consultant is responsible for selling new Chevrolet vehicles at Serra Chevrolet Saginaw while meeting dealership standards for gross profit, volume, and customer satisfaction. This role requires a customer-first approach, strong product knowledge, and the ability to guide buyers through the entire purchase and delivery experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Customer Engagement & Sales
Approach, greet, and offer assistance to every customer who enters the dealership showroom or sales lot
Assist customers in selecting a vehicle by asking thoughtful questions and listening carefully to their needs
Explain product performance, features, applications, and benefits to prospective buyers
Describe all optional equipment available for purchase
Offer test drives to all prospects and follow dealership procedures to obtain proper identification prior to each drive
Sell and deliver an acceptable number of vehicles per month as determined by dealership standards
Ensure that the Sales Manager has an opportunity to meet each customer
Product Knowledge & Professional Development
Stay current on new Chevrolet products, features, accessories, and their benefits to customers
Understand equity, values, and depreciation and be able to explain them clearly to customers
Attend product and sales training courses as requested by the Sales Manager
Establish personal income goals consistent with dealership productivity standards and develop strategies to achieve them
Review and analyze activity at the end of each day, week, month, and year to improve time management and effectiveness
Delivery & Follow-Up
Prepare sold vehicles for customer delivery prior to the customer's arrival
Deliver vehicles to customers, ensuring they understand all operating features, warranty coverage, and paperwork
Introduce customers to Service Department personnel to emphasize the quality and availability of dealership service
Schedule the customer's first service appointment
Follow up on all post-delivery items including tag and title work, we-owes, and special requests to ensure all customer expectations are met
Maintain an owner follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business
Maintain a prospect development system to build a consistent pipeline
Administrative & General
Utilize the dealership's sales control and follow-up system consistently
Write complete sales orders and process paperwork in accordance with established dealership practices
Turn 100% of closed deals to the F&I Manager along with properly completed paperwork
Know and understand all federal, state, and local laws governing retail auto sales
If applicable, actively participate in marketing content creation efforts including photo, video, and customer photo content for website and social media exposure
Help maintain lot appearance
Maintain a professional appearance as defined by dealership policies
Attend all sales meetings
QUALIFICATIONS Requirements
Valid driver's license required
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
Strong interpersonal skills with a high commitment to customer satisfaction
