Low Voltage Superintendent

Supervise the planning, installation, and completion of Low Voltage electrical systems in new or existing construction, ensuring that the National Electrical Code and all other applicable standards and specifications are followed. Supervise Low Voltage Technicians, interpret blueprints, manage schedules and budgets, coordinate with other trades, ensure compliance with codes, and troubleshoot problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all aspects of Low Voltage projects from start to finish, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to industry standards.

Demonstrate safe work habits and comply with company safety requirements.

Experience in all aspects of fiber optic cabling.

Understand the industry and applicable standards.

Install and terminate CAT cable.

Install and terminate fiber optic cable.

Conduct service calls and oversee projects as needed.

Test both copper and fiber cables.

Read blueprints and apply specifications.

Feel comfortable with Microsoft Office computer platforms.

BICSI Certified: a plus.

Self‑driven and able to work with limited supervision.

Move and handle various equipment and spools of wire.

Properly care for material, tools and equipment.

Assist electricians by performing various tasks.

Operate power tools such as drills, saws, pullers, tugger, etc.

Apply knowledge of processes, procedures, and methods.

Use common courtesy in everyday contacts with employees, clients, and the general public.

Carry a pager or cell phone and be on‑call when necessary.

Work in varying weather climates.

Travel out of town and stay overnight as required.

Physical Requirements

Able to physically lift up to and in excess of 75 pounds, unassisted, frequently throughout the day (physical work is more than 70% of the job).

Ability to safely climb up and down ladders.

Ability to work alone once instructions have been given.

Complete a full day’s assignments involving bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching over head, and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.

Wear personal protective equipment and any other safety‑related equipment.

Able to wear personal tool belt at all times on the job site.

Work from various heights via ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and other safe work platforms and areas.

Work in and around restricted/confined spaces such as manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics, clean rooms, and raised metal floors.

Work in extreme weather conditions and elements, indoor or outdoor, including heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, and snow depending on job location.

Specific vision abilities required.

Work a 40‑hour work week, with overtime and off‑hour shifts as required.

Education / Experience Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school; or one or more years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
