We are seeking an experienced
Senior Business Data Analyst
to analyze existing business requirements, understand current system functionality, data flows, and pain points, and develop comprehensive business requirements for new systems and enhancements. This role will translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements and collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to ensure alignment with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have strong
data analysis, documentation, and stakeholder facilitation skills , along with experience writing
Epics, User Stories, and acceptance criteria . Key Responsibilities
Analyze current business processes, data flows, and system functionality to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
Elicit, document, and manage
business and data requirements
for new systems and enhancements.
Write clear and detailed
Epics, User Stories, and acceptance criteria
for development and QA teams.
Design and optimize
data workflows and data management processes
using modeling and mapping tools.
Create and maintain
data dictionaries, business requirement documents (BRDs), and data mapping specifications .
Design and present
visual data models and dashboards
to communicate trends, performance, and project timelines.
Lead and facilitate
data-focused meetings, interviews, and workshops , documenting outcomes and driving issue resolution.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and product owners to ensure end-to-end solution alignment.
Proactively identify process and system improvement opportunities.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of hands-on experience
as a
Business Data Analyst
in the IT industry.
Strong ability to collaborate with both
technical and non-technical teams
to analyze complex, data-driven business problems.
8+ years of experience
designing and optimizing
data workflows and data management processes .
8+ years of experience
writing
Epics, User Stories, and acceptance criteria .
8+ years of experience
creating and maintaining
data documentation , including data dictionaries and data mapping specifications.
Experience presenting
visual data models and dashboards .
Proven ability to
lead data-focused meetings
and drive resolution of data-related issues.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics , or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage
multiple data projects simultaneously .
Working knowledge of
SNAP, Medicaid, and TANF eligibility rules .
Experience with
integrated eligibility case management systems .
Prior experience leading
Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions .
