The Village of Channahon (Village) is a thriving community with a population of 13,383 (as of the 2020 Census) located 45 miles southwest of Chicago, just west of Joliet and east of Morris in southwest Will County and eastern Grundy County. Channahon encompasses portions of Channahon, Troy, Aux Sable, Goose Lake, and Saratoga Townships. The Village employs approximately 90 full time, part time, elected, appointed, and seasonal employees in 5 departments.
Open Position Marketing & Communications Manager
Salary Range $71,000-$99,000 DOQ
Position Summary The Marketing & Communications Manager serves as the primary storyteller and brand ambassador for the Village of Channahon. Working with considerable independence and under the strategic direction of the Village Administrator's Office, this role is responsible for the development, execution, and management of the Village's internal and external communications, public relations, and marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate is a creative, tech‑savvy professional who can effectively engage the community through digital platforms, print media, community events, and strategic partnerships.

Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
Experience:
Proven experience managing corporate or municipal communications, social media, and marketing campaigns.
Technical Proficiency:
Strong working knowledge of business technology (including Google Workspace) and content management systems (CMS).
Design Skills:
Considerable proficiency in graphic design and digital media software (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud including Illustrator/Photoshop, Canva, or similar platforms).
Analytical Skills:
Ability to analyze marketing metrics, interpret engagement data, evaluate system performance, and present results clearly.
Communication Skills:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill complex municipal data into clear, compelling public narratives.
Special Requirements:
Possession of a valid Illinois driver's license.
