Nightline has an opening for an Associate Producer. We are looking for someone who is extremely creative, hungry, and looking forward to the adrenaline high of a news of day “crash” while bringing forward magazine style storytelling Responsibilities Responsibilities include providing logistical and editorial support for all aspects of production. That support includes, but is not limited to- Helping book characters/elements/access Helping prep/do pre-production ahead of shoots, especially with handling logistics Field producing Reporting Fact-checking Assist with editorial and archival research Organize editors and ready media for edit Liase with graphic artists Liase with Rights & Clearances, Legal and Standards Pitch stories with regularity On occasion backfill Ops Producer and other roles Film expert interviews Basic Qualifications All candidates should have extensive production and journalistic reporting experience and excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. A willingness to work different shifts, as needed, and thrive under daily deadline pressures. Open to working long hours, weekends Communication skills (written and verbal) – ability to effectively communicate and interact with people at various levels and in various disciplines of business and production Entrepreneurial, strong self-starting approach to work Working knowledge of cameras and related gear - or want to learn Working knowledge of Avid editing systems or equivalent and media organization Experience with breaking news and longform content Must feel comfortable crashing, and enjoy fast-paced breaking news environment Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working at a television news broadcast Required Education · Bachelor’s degree (TV/Film/Journalism or related field) or equivalent work experience Job Overview Nightline has an opening for an Associate Producer. The hiring range for this position in New York is $62,400 - 83,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
